New for Fall 2025, the larger, redesigned Macintosh Mini Super Cute II. It's a 3D printed parts for making an 80% scale Macintosh Classic computer system from a Raspberry Pi 4 or Raspberry Pi 5, and uses an 8-inch 1080p display.

Model is approximately 9.375" wide x 11" tall x 7.5" deep
238 mm (W) × 279 mm (H) × 191 mm (D)

For size comparison, the original Macintosh Classic systems used a 9-inch monochrome CRT display at 512x342 resolution. This kit uses an 8-inch, 1024x768 resolution, 4:3 ratio IPS display, representing an 80% scale model compared to the original.

Step back into a time where your computer had a handle, copying a file produced a mechanical hi-low chatter sound, and you would have to wait your turn to play 'Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?' in the computer classroom. That's the feeling you'll evoke when you assemble your own computer with this kit, but with modern components. Inspired by the Compact Macintosh Classic series, you'll only need to add a few parts to have a completely functional computer system on your desktop. No soldering or special ability is required. Everything is plug and play. Along with a keyboard and mouse, you can use this for everyday computing & web browsing, as a dedicated Spotify player, Youtube videos, retro vaporwave decor, or any number of other applications that can easily run on a Raspberry Pi. Go completely modern with a mechanical keyboard and wireless mouse. Or, with an optional adapter, you can even use a number of original Apple Extended Keyboards and mice with this system. It even has a handle on the top of the display so you can pick it up and go, just like the original.

You have a choice of four different front case styles, designed from the Compact Macintosh series computer. Model front, your choice (pick 1):
Kit 1: Pi 4 compatible, Macintosh 128K, 512K, Plus
Kit 2: Pi 4 compatible, Macintosh SE (photographed)
Kit 3: Pi 4 compatible, Macintosh SE/30
Kit 4: Pi 4 compatible, Macintosh Classic/II

Kit 5: Pi 5 compatible, Macintosh 128K, 512K, Plus
Kit 6: Pi 5 compatible, Macintosh SE (photographed)
Kit 7: Pi 5 compatible, Macintosh SE/30
Kit 8: Pi 5 compatible, Macintosh Classic/II

For the case material, I use a special PLA filament designed to color match the original warm gray "Platinum" Macintosh Classic systems, prior to when any yellowing/aging would have occurred. See the color comparison photo in this listing. Its color is meant to bring happiness to anyone who longs for that lost charm of vintage home computing. It's 100% pure PLA with no additives, and manufactured entirely in the USA.

Each front case comes with a "fake disk" model insert in black PLA. Blue tape has also been pre-applied, designed to mimic an inserted floppy disk.

Original model design and permission by the author and original designer of this project, cgenco, on Instructables. This model has been completely redesigned to use a larger display and newer Raspberry Pi systems.

I also offer the 3D printed parts for making a "Small" 40% scale Mac (the Macintosh Mini Cute) which uses the 3.5" screen. This listing is for a much larger, 80% scale project (Super Cute II), that uses a 8" screen. The rear case for this project has been designed to fit a Raspberry Pi 4 or Raspberry Pi 5.

Raspberry Pi is NOT INCLUDED. Screen is NOT INCLUDED. No electronics or files of any kind are included. This is a kit only. Screen and electronics shown for demonstrate a completed system. This listing includes all of the 3D printed parts necessary to make your own 80% scale Macintosh Classic computer system. You would still be responsible to obtain a Raspberry Pi 4 or Pi 5, the 8-inch display, in addition to all other electronics and hardware necessary to complete the project. A full list of materials and where you can obtain them is included with the 3D printed parts.
