Macintosh Mini Cute 5: 3D printed parts for "Making a Small Mac From a Raspberry Pi", a ~40% scale model to an original Macintosh Classic computer system, now modeled to fit the Raspberry Pi 5!
In the USA, Raspberry Pi 5 systems are now readily available at several authorized resellers including Vilros, Chicago Electronics Distributors, Adafruit, and Canakit in 4GB and 8GB RAM variants, both at MSRP.
Model is approx. 5.5" x 4" x 4" (139.7mm x 101.6mm x 101.6mm). Note that this is for the "Small" Mac project which uses the 3.5" screen, not the "Tiny" Mac project which uses a 2.8" screen.
Model front, your choice (pick 1)
Macintosh 128K, 512K, Plus (front_3.5)
Macintosh SE (front_SE_3.5)
Macintosh SE/30 (front_SE30_3.5)
Macintosh Classic/II (front_classic_3.5)
For the case material, I use a special PLA filament designed to color match the original warm gray "Platinum" Macintosh Classic systems, prior to when any yellowing/aging would have occurred. See the color comparison photo in this listing. Its color is meant to bring happiness to anyone who longs for that lost charm of vintage home computing. It's 100% pure PLA with no additives, and manufactured entirely in the USA.
Each front case comes with a "fake disk" model insert in black PLA. Blue tape has also been pre-applied, designed to mimic an inserted floppy disk.
Model design and permission by the author and original designer of this project, cgenco, on Instructables. You would still follow the same instructions for that project with these parts. This model has just been updated to use a Raspberry Pi 5.
This listing includes all of the 3D printed parts necessary to make your own Small Mac, now modeled to fit a Raspberry Pi 5. Raspberry Pi is NOT INCLUDED. Screen is NOT INCLUDED. No electronics or files of any kind are included. Any electronics displayed in the photos are for reference purposes only. You would still be responsible to obtain a Raspberry Pi, in addition to all other electronics and hardware described in the Instructables guide.
