Playdate Wingman Grip Case

Playdate grip case

Ergonomic comfort-grip case for Playdate

This is a custom designed, play-through style ergonomic grip case for the Playdate handheld game system. It's a one-piece, 3D-printed shell made from an eco-friendly, bioplastic material known as PLA. The Playdate is inserted into the case, and is secured through the existing Playdate screw holes with included hardware (3x M2 x 12mm bolts & nuts). The purposes of this case is to provide a wider, more comfortable grip when holding and playing your Playdate, especially when applying torque with the crank. Instead of holding Playdate with your fingers and thumb, grip with your entire palm for a more ergonomic and relaxed hold.

All ports remain open and accessible, specifically:
✅ The USB-C cable that originally came with your Playdate is compatible with Wingman.
✅ The top power/sleep button is accessible with a generous cutout.
✅ An audio channel is cutout for games that access the condenser microphone.
✅ Stereo headphones can still be used, but only narrow audio cables will fit, such as iPhone earbuds.
❌ Not compatible with the upcoming official Playdate Stereo Dock from Panic.

A lot of work went into modeling and prototyping this case. I carefully manufacture and test each one using my own Playdate. It takes several hours to produce just one case and I make sure that each one passes my level of quality assurance.

I also tested with several different yellow filament colors and found a great "egg yolk" yellow that very closely resembles the color of the Playdate d-pad, menu, and B & A buttons. I think it's a great complimentary color but note that it's not meant to be a perfect color match. This is the currently the only colorway that I offer for this specific case.
